This is going to be the last post for this blog. Over the course of this year, writing the blog has become more of a chore than a pleasure. And with the renewal fees coming due at the start of December, I’ve decided to pull the plug.
Just for an update on our travels, we spent about six weeks in Denver trying to resolve some medical issues, and finally got the all-clear to resume our journey in late October. We drove back to the east coast, stopping to visit some of my best friends along the way, and picking up our journey in Delaware.
We spent a few lovely days in Trap Pond State Park, including a visit to the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park, just across the border in Maryland. We then spent a few chilly days at the beach on Assateaque Island, seeing their famous wild horses throughout the park.
From there, we drove down to Powhatan State Park in Virginia, from where we visited Monticello and Jamestown. We had a lovely visit in Richmond with one of my former editors.
Now we head down to the Outer Banks in North Carolina and then work our way through the state to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We’ll finish up with stops in Georgia and South Carolina in December.
I’m going to continue posting pictures of our trip on Facebook and if you don’t follow me there, feel free to message me and I’ll add you as a friend.
Many thanks to everyone who’s clicked through to read the blog and particularly to those who reached out with kind comments.
For now, our journey continues…
Good to pull the plug if it brings you no joy. I’ll continue to folie you on FB.
